Bulgarian companies as well as individuals may apply for leasing.

What could be financed through leasing?

What is the duration of a leasing contract?

The duration of a leasing contract is up to 5 years for brand new assets and 4 years for used assets

What is Sale and Lease Back ?

The transaction in which the owner of an asset (e.g. building), sells the asset to the leasing company, receiving the agreed price of property. Subsequently the client leases the asset, under terms agreed (duration, rental) acquiring back the ownership at the maturity of the contractIt is a bilateral relationship between the seller of the asset (and subsequent lessee) and the financial leasing company (lessor).

What happens at the expiration of the leasing contract?


At the expiration of the leasing contract, the asset ownership is returned to the lessee.

Could I acquire the leased asset before the expiration date of the contract?

The lease contract can be early terminated on a client initiative by   returning to the lessee the asset ownership.

What should I do in case of a damage or accident to the asset?


The lessee is solely responsible for the insurance coverage of the leased asset. In case of the asset’s accident or damage, Piraeus Leasing and the insurance company covering the asset should be promptly informed.

In case of vehicles on leasing, who is responsible for the payment of dues of circulation, fines etc?

While the leasing contract is in effect, the lessee is responsible for paying the above.

Can I sublease the equipment that has been leased to a third party?


It is possible, after obtaining a written approval from Piraeus Leasing.

What happens with the VAT in financial leasing?


According to the VAT regulations as of 01.01.2007 the client can choose between two types of lease agreements described below according to his will of acquiring ownership of the asset at the end of the leasing period

  • Type 1  - VAT payable at the beginning upon signing the lease contract when there is acquiring of ownership   
  • Type II – VAT payable during the whole lease period of the lease agreement, when there is option of acquiring ownership   

What is 3month EURIBOR?

EURIBOR means Euro Inter banking Offered Rate.

What is BLIR?

Basic Leasing Interest Rate (BLIR)

What is downpayment?

The downpayment is per cent of the purchase price of the asset paid by the lessee upon signing the lease contract.

Does the client pay management fee on the lease deal?


The client pays fee over the value of the asset once upon signing the lease contract.

Who makes the insurance?


Piraeus Insurance Broker makes the insurance of the asset for the whole lease period which can be paid at once or in installments.

How will I receive the invoices in order to pay the monthly installment?

At info@piraeusleasing.bg, you can send information about the name of the lessee and the e-mail address on which you want to receive the invoice.

What is interim interest and what is it for?

The lessee pays interim interest for the period between the day in which the lessor pays the asset to the supplier and the first installment.
